Coolant and your engine.
The cooling system of any vehicle is without a doubt the most important component of the entire machine. It is a fact that in between 60 and 80% of engine and transmission failures are brought on by cooling system “breakdowns”. This has been a huge cost to equipment owners and $1.5 billion dollars yearly is attributed to this failure throughout Australia.
This is a huge amount of money thinking about the truth that it could be minimized drastically (probably by 75%) by the setup of the right cooling system products.
FluidMasters ongoing dedication is to offer the best cooling system products that can be produced. The products FluidMasters market were established by the School of Chemical Engineering at the Western Australian Institute of Innovation (Curtin University) in the early 1980’s by Dr Richie and his team established a protectorate in addition to a flushing product.
FluidMasters have been marketing these products to their customer base considering that 1982 and in that time the two most typical and most harmful issues challenging the operator as far as the cooling system is worried are “Cavitation Disintegration” (Pit holes that drill through the cylinder liners) and “Electrolysis” (the damage of alloys, i.e. cylinder heads etc). These two significant issues have become a thing of the past for our customers with not one instance being taped in over 26 years.
The design of cooling systems today is as it was in Henry Ford’s time, with extremely little changes. Water, a radiator and radiator pipes, fan belts, a radiator cap, and a water pump.
In engines today it is vital to protect complex alloy heads and multi valve systems. An alloy head is subjected to “electrolysis”, the breaking down of alloy by electrical action of the engine. It is as though the engine is one huge “battery”. An alloy head can cost anywhere from $1000.00 to $6000.00.
Scary thought but a truth, and still they go vulnerable as owners take the guidance of the repairer or the garage owner who offers them the incorrect or insufficient product for their equipment’s cooling systems. Keep in mind, the seller generally has little understanding of the products he is selling.
So, why is it that FluidMasters can encourage you on the right products for this defense? Because, we manufacture our products to perform as required by the maker. Unfortunately though, A LOT OF the OEM engines cooling system defense just DO NOT WORK, or stop working before the specified time of defense is reached.
Diesel Engine producers have increased engine running temperature levels to improve engine efficiency. This means proper cooling system maintenance is particularly important. Overheating, overcooling, pitting, cavitation, erosion, cracked heads, piston seizures, and plugged radiators are classic cooling system failures.
Correct coolant choice and maintenance of the system is the owner’s choice and the ideal coolant is important to effective engine life span. In fact, coolant is just as important as the quality of your fuel or lubricating oil.
FluidMasters provides cooling system preventative maintenance product or services to assist you prevent the down-time & expensive impacts of coolant-related engine/ transmission failures.
Gen XI Fuel Stabiliser and your engine.
Only distillate fuels that meet required specs will result in optimum engine efficiency and sturdiness. All equipment and equipment operators require tidy safe fuel if their equipment is to provide optimal efficiency.
Fuel homes and quality have a huge impact on engine operation. Contamination generally is presented during fuel handling, that is, transfer from the refinery to its last storage location could mean many fuel transfers and therefore more possibilities of contamination.
Fuel quality can significantly impact the efficiency and maintenance of any diesel or petrol engine. Water can cause excessive sludge and also cause fuel pump damage in those fuel systems which use fuel oil to lube the pump.
Seawater is the best single source of fouling deposits and rust, particularly in high temperature locations of marine engines. Seawater can cause fuel injector and piston ring groove deposits and wear in fuel system plunger and barrel assemblies.
Gen XI gets rid of water from fuel, fuel tanks, fuel lines and slows down fungal growth. The presence of water from condensation, seal leakage, etc can speed up the degradation of the fuel, particularly if high sulphur levels exist. In diesel, water permits microorganism growth (eg: Hormoconis resinae and Cladisporium resinae). These “diesel bugs” feed upon the fuel and propagate in the water and this causes fuel degradation and filter/injector blockages.
Gen XI really rids the system of water by encapsulating the water which in turn is focused into small microscopic beads through the unique chemicals in Gen XI. These beads are then held in suspension within the fuel, finished the engines filter system and fuel pump where it is exhausted to the environment as oxygen and hydrogen gasses. Also, any sulphur products are also encapsulated hence preventing sulphurous acid damage to engine component parts. By neutralising the sulphur material of fuel, Gen XI Fuel Stabiliser will get rid of fuel issues and accomplish better burn, amount to combustion, less emissions and greater efficiency.
The product also contains detergent dispersant aspects to not only tidy but entirely distribute with an arrangement of fluid suspension aspects.
Fuel including Gen XI Fuel Stabiliser will stay high quality, right viscosity, sulphur managed and safe storage for extended periods. FluidMasters have facilities such as banks and Hospitals with distillate in their emergency situation generators that have been in these units for over 20 years. This also provides the operator a possibility to store fuel for extended periods and therefore “hedge” against increasing fuel costs. For long storage of fuel, we recommend that the Gen XI product be utilized at a mix rate of 30% more than recommended for normal use.
Pristine fuel is imperative for the well-being of your equipment. Western Australian-made Microlube fuel filters offer 100% efficiency at 1-micron rating. That’s as near best as you are going to get. Bowser or fuel-tank fitting is normal with flow rates of 100 or 150 litres per minute being standard. Consisting of a washable filter, they are incredibly efficient and economical.
Microlube Filters (dispersed by FluidMasters) are a variety of economical, low-micron filters for the optimum elimination of suspended particles and general contaminates in industrial fluids and fuel. When utilized as a main filter on a diesel setup it guarantees optimum fuel condition and regularly gets rid of expensive secondary filter clog.
Microlube’s ingenious fuel purification systems are discovering increasing acceptance among mining and earthmoving contractors, transport & oilfield operators, farmers and marine equipment owners.
Prevent damage to fuel pumps and injectors from small particles.
Microlube has constructed a variety of quality filter-systems which are designed to eliminate fungal debris, suspended particles, drop-out in diesel fuels and other particles such as sand, dust, sludge and excess water. The filters eliminate pollutants as small as one micron, utilizing polyester needle-felt filter socks. Polyester needle felt is the most typical material utilized for these bags and is readily available in micron scores of 1, 5, 100 and 150.
Microlube Technical Specifications.
Filtered pollutants are contained in the filter sock and remove the possibility of contamination, typical with cartridge-type filters, (according to graphic below) which leave pollutants in the filter housing.
How to choose a Microlube filter.
1. Select the unit size based on the flow rate adjusted for the viscosity of the fluid to be filtered.
2. Select the micron rating of the bag to be fitted.
3. Select Port Position.
4. Select the model # – eg filter 100L/min of diesel to 1 micron with standard port, choose model MFH 100.
FluidMasters do not have particular products for a machines air system, as there are no fluids involved, but it is imperative to keep in mind that: Diesel and petrol engines digest literally numerous square meters of air to every litre of fuel burnt.
Tidy air filters result in a more efficiently running engine, leading to less impact on the environment. Lower costs are also the outcome of an efficient air system, not to mention less downtime and loss of earnings.
